For The Love of God…

Vanity

A fragile bird

Floats on dreamlessly

And undisturbed

It has forgotten

The Word

The prophets foretold

That God’s love

Would be bought and sold

In pieces of silver

The ripped curtain

Folds

Unravelled and stripped

Apart at the seams

See the wounds that bleed

For our broken dreams

In a world where we are

But scattered seeds

At the foot of the empty cross

Here to grow abundantly

In its victory

Or wither guilt-ridden

In loss…

Love’s Flight

The pangs of love

Take time to articulate

(Perhaps by now

They have spoken too late…)

Like a kite

I let you sail towards

An unknown destination;

A bottled message of love

Washed upon the shore

Of some foreign nation

But somehow

You found a way back

As if you knew

I was already here waiting

For the slow and steady tide

That abates with your sigh

Until you are ready to fly

Upon its wings of love again.

L’amore È Una Vittoria

Dalla prima volta che ti ho guardato negli tuoi occhi

Ho sentito la tua presa intrecciata

Intorno al mio cuore

Come fiori

INGLESE:

Love Is A Victory

From the first time that I looked into your eyes

I felt your grip woven

Around my heart

Like flowers

It was a night under the stars

Which led me to your bed

“I want to make love”

Were the words that you said

And when I saw you

In the light, pure and clear

Amongst our silence

There was neither pain nor fear

only the movement of breath

that glided between open lips

On the road of destiny

That seemed endless

But now, in this beautiful city

Walking hand in hand

It is impossible to feel alone

With all the things we have planned

So even if the rain falls to the earth

It will never cover our eyes with tears

Because the victory is in our happiness

And it will live forever!

Loving You Awry

Like lovers passing out

In a romantic trance

We paved the streets of London

In a carefree dance

Unperturbed by the world

We mistakenly offend

Driven forward by a force

With which it cannot contend

Wherein this snow globe

We are each other’s muses

And paint the sky in flakes of feeling

A love infused only with dreaming

Until with my white and frozen

Lips you bade me goodbye

Whilst I continue earnestly now

Loving you awry…

A Pledge With Death

(You wish for something

To appease your thoughts

But searching your mind,

You find nought…)

Oh sweet duplicity of intent

That falters my conscience;

Some might say

My actions were hell-bent…

But what may be this

Mysterious manifestation

That drives its fettered stream?

Upon reflection, I think

It was a dream…

Even now as my

Sprightly spirit returns

I start to remember

The Love for which I have yearned…

And even as Death mingles

Around her edges, I am quite positive

My pledges will not be burned…

Sterile Love

How can we say goodbye

When you still hold

In your hand my heart

The distance does not lie:

We’ve been drifting apart

Yet even as I sleep

Your face in my mind

Hangs like a frame on a wall

Four corners of fiction

That encapsulate my soul

For no longer can we exist

Within margins so fragile

The timing was off and now

This love has become sterile

So look above and find

The writing engraved on the wall:

“A love that is sterile is not one

For which to fall”

A Beautiful Burden

The light reflects onto your face

And into your searching eyes;

When you look in the mirror

Do you find something you despise?

Amidst your wandering gaze

Which hangs heavy with your lashes

Inside I see a soul that carries

A burden your beautiful face matches

Might it have been love

That carried me into your arms

Or was it my lack of resistance

For your insatiable charm?

The longing to pour into you

My soul whilst resting

My weary head against your shoulder

My feelings for you are unadulterated;

What concern is it that you are older?

For in matters of the heart

My single most preoccupation is clear:

To love you unreservedly;

You are my queen and I am your seer

Kiss Your Broken Vows

Do not be deceived!

You are your best company;

On a winding road

That will carry you home

The only heartbeat you need is your own

Or upon a rolling hill

Inclining towards uncertainty

The most exciting adventures

Are solitary still;

There need be no other

To entertain your thrill

No woman whose love

You fought so hard to attain

No figure of authority

To nurse you through your pain

Only the blinding rain

That pours relentlessly

Through broken clouds

As you wait for Time

To uncover its veil

And kiss your broken vows
